Cambridgeshire Adult Safeguarding Board

Cambridgeshire Adult Safeguarding Board brings together representatives of the main agencies in the statutory, voluntary and independent sector, responsible for working with and providing services for vulnerable adults.

The Board will work together in co-operation to safeguard vulnerable adults from abuse, ensuring that services provided are of a high standard and that arrangements work effectively.

The Board will closely follow government advice set out in the

  • No Secrets multi-agency guidance published in 2000
  • Joint protocol between Association of Directors of Social Services (ADSS), Commission for Social Care Inspection and Association of Chief Police Officers of December 2003
  • Standards for Better Health 2004 (updated 2006)
  • Safeguarding Adults; National Standards published by ADSS in October 2005
  • ...and any subsequent guidance or legislation issued by central government.

    The Board will provide strategic leadership in the management and co-ordination of adult safeguarding arrangements for all services in Cambridgeshire.

    Raising Awareness course Jan-Jul (208Kb) (PDF document)

    A half day course for care workers and support staff to induct/refresh on basic principles of Adult Safeguarding.

    Professional Responsibilties (170Kb) (PDF document)

    A one day course for front line staff including managers and professionals who need an in depth introduction to adult safeguarding processes and procedures.

    Management Responsibilities course (223Kb) (PDF document)

    A two day course that informs managers of their duties in relation to adult safeguarding.

    A two day course that informs managers and professionals of their duties when investigating adult safeguarding concerns.

    Bespoke Training

    This provision develops a bespoke training package in consultation with individual organisations which is then delivered by one of our specialist trainers.

    E-learning

    This e-learning programme has been designed to provide individual learners with a basic awareness of adult safeguarding principles. It introduces national and local policies & procedures.
