The latest on training and funding in Social Care
1) IMPORTANT: Change of venue for the March Training Consortium (CASCTC)Please be aware that the venue for the new joint workforce development consortium - the CAMBRIDGESHIRE ADULT SOCIAL CARE TRAINING CONSORTIUM (CASCTC) on March 28th in the town of March - has been changed to: March Youth and Community Centre, 34 Station Road, March, PE15 8LE. This new consortium aims to combine the activities and benefits of the (previously separate) consortia for Learning Disability, Physical Disability and Older People's Services. The new consortium will comprise a plenary session for any business common to all the services and break-out sessions for specific groups. As usual a CPCB representative will be present. It includes 'Recruiting the Right People' on March 13th and 'Effective Supervision' on April 19th. To download the information click here and then 'save as'. Source(s): Pat Chalmers 3) Support for Voluntary and Not-for-Profit OrganisationsA last reminder that the National Care Forum and Voluntary Organisations Disability Group in partnership with Skills for Care are holding two free events on Tuesday (London) and Thursday (Manchester) for frontline managers of voluntary and not-for-profit organisations, at least one of which is fairly accessible to Cambridgeshire residents. The aims of these special events are as follows: i) to provide managers with an understanding of the wider social care policy context and to offer tools to assist them in supporting frontline staff enhance their service delivery ii) to promote an understanding of the new regulatory and monitoring framework and its implications for staff development.
