National Skills Academy Launches Aspiring Leaders Programme for Social Care(Posted: 20/07/10)The Skills Academy has just launched its new 'Aspiring Leaders' programme, a leadership course to be delivered with the renowned Ashridge Business School, and aimed at social care managers who aspire to senior management. The programme will equip managers with what they need to be successful leaders in social care. The first intake will start the programme in early September, with 2 further intakes to follow before Spring 2011. In this first year, the Skills Academy will subsidise half of the £4,950 cost, meaning that employers will pay just £2,750 for each participant. It is intended for those who are currently teaching or supporting maths and numeracy on a range of programmes (Skills for Life Numeracy, Functional Maths, Numeracy and Maths embedded into vocational programmes) and focuses on numeracy teaching and learning and learner progression and will be delivered by trainers who are experienced regional numeracy experts. NB: Not designed for people with very little understanding and experience of numeracy/maths teaching.
